Hello!

I am a graphic artist and front-end web developer from Houston. My skills and experience include designing for physical, digital, or print; and working on the front-end design and development of websites. Through my hired positions and freelance work, my experience includes working with a diverse range of industries, including Oil & Gas, Real Estate at all levels, medical, outdoor, and the printing industry.

My greatest assets are the ability to problem solve and learn new things fast. I like to think outside of the box and can see multiple angles of approach simultaneously. This helps me adapt to new situations quickly and fairly efficiently.

I am looking for a new position to cultivate my knowledge, and skill base to continue my learning journey. I used to be very active as a web designer, unfortunately for the last few years I have not had the opportunity to work on many web-based projects. Currently, I am in a 400-hour JavaScript class and once I am done with that I have several other framework-centric classes lined up to do.

I have over 17 years of experience with HTML and CSS. I have a working knowledge and can mess with SASS (currently enrolled in classes), JavaScript (currently enrolled in classes), and PHP.

I spend my free time and gain my inspiration from doing things with my wife, and two sons. We love spending time outside together. Teaching my kids about the outdoors has been the most rewarding thing I have ever done and seeing the world through their eyes has been the biggest source of inspiration for me and helps to continually push me toward my goals.

In this role, I performed most of the graphic design, pre-press, and production duties on top of my Operations Manager duties. One of my duties as an operations manager was identifying potential problems and finding efficient solutions that kept us moving forward without disruption. Coordinating with internal and external teams, contractors, and property managers is a large part of this role as well.

• Graphic Design: Layout (print and digital), Logo and Branding, Concepting, Sign Design, and more.
• Production Design: Prepare art for multiple output processes per work order.
• Installer: Install signs and vinyl graphics per work order and customer-approved proof.
• Develop Brand Standards and Utilize Brand Standards when the client has them.
• Fabrication: Build and construct signs from various materials including plastics, aluminum, wood, and steel.
• Service: Diagnose and service various electrical signs and perform repairs in accordance with the work order and national and local electrical codes.
• Ordering: requested and placed orders for jobs and the shop inventory.
• Installation Planning: Consult with sales, project manager, client, and contractors to set and maintain a schedule for installations, service, and surveys.
• Site Surveys: Travel to clients' sites to perform site surveys to gain the necessary information to properly bid, build, permit, and install the sign.

As a freelance designer, I have gained a lot of experience and have been exposed to multiple ways of approaching a design project. I have worked with firms, personal clients, corporate design teams, and a host of production shops. In my freelance journey, my ability to change direction and envision solutions quickly has helped me to meet deadlines, and augment already established teams for short-term contracts. If i do not know how to do something or not familiar with a software or code language that is needed for a contract I can learn it and research it quickly and effectively.
